I think I'm in love...

I could go in debt buying Schiffer's books. They're simply astounding in detail and pictures. And Price.
...and I should've just gone with OP...

Seeing as I was unable to pick up 'Grunt Gear' I'll definitely be looking into this book. Thanks for the heads-up!

The author (Harlan Glenn) is a fairly well-known West Coast WWII USMC reenactor. He and his guys have appeared in many a History Channel documentary as WWII Marines.

Nice looking book. I'll definitely be getting one. Just an FYI though. The book can be preordered on Amazon.com for about 30 bucks less than on the Schiffer site.

If you can manage to lasso a copy of Grunt Gear, then add this book by Glenn to your collection you may have a very definitive library on the Corps in WW2. As a former Jarhead, and Jarhead builder in 1/6th this will provide you with tons of ideas for bashes in the future, I know i have one already in the works.

FYI: Harlan's new companion volume to his earlier, superb "Dungarees and Frogskins" book is available now via the Schiffer website. (Curiously it
is not yet available on Amazon.) The title is "782 Gear." Whereas "Frogskin" was about WW2 Marine uniforms, this one is about USMC WW2
field gear. I know some folks didn't like Harlan's commentary style in the first volume, but I found his research and eye for detail to be remarkable.
Price is fairly steep at $90 free shipping (Amazon's pre-order should be cheaper) but well worth any price for the massive number of photos and
information. Can't wait to add this to my gyrene library!
