Do my eyes deceive me, or is that a second pattern "step-in" jump smock? I hope so - I could use a few at least. The MG42 and FG42 combo is appealing. Looks like a good release to me.

This is a nice surprise. I could use a couple of smocks. I wonder if the headsculpt is newer larger size or if they are using the smaller helmet.

I don't do Fallys but it looks like one of DMLs better releases not much I could use from the set except for the MG.

Is that an Italian camo FG42 bandolier?

Hmmmmmm......
this is a good release for this line...I guess kind of like the 'Monte Cassino' version of "Erwin".... I'm interested in the 2nd pattern green/grey smock as well....this would have been the version worn by a lot of cadremen in the Normandy 'Hedgerow' campaigns.... I don't know anything about the DML version of this smock (I've used the BGT, which is a '3rd' pattern, which isn't entirely 'correct' except as a field modification)...has this version been done by DML before? and suddenly, just like the BARs..., a 'famine' turns into a 'feast' as far as FG-42s are concerned!...Lovin' it! NOW....we need to see the Thompson 'famine' turn into a 'FEAST'....(DiD is already kicking it off with the upcoming "Roe" medic Thompson)....DML...please respond in kind!(especially with that all-too-rare sling) Bruce |

has this version been done by DML before? Yes, with Siegfried (2001) and 4th Anniversary Max (2003). The Max version was pretty good IMO. AFAIK that's it, so it's been awhile waiting.

GREAT!...
I still don't think folks are quite getting the FJ 'helmet thing' as far as fit... The FJ helmet was a very compact design...much 'tighter' in fit than the standard "Stahlhelm" or even the US M1.... the first design versions were just 'cut down' stahlhelms...but the production versions were all purpose made in the compact form... By far, the vast majority of period pics show the helmet to fit just as is shown in the pics of this guy...but, of course, there are exceptions , and , as each person has a differently sized 'noggin'...you'd see FJs with helmets that didn't quite exhibit the compact fit and sit as intended...this helmet fits THIs HS far better than the "Erwin" version fit his... This series is turning into a real winner IMHO for Dragon. It's got me buying boxed figures again. I would have rather seen the basis for this guy based on
one from their new Monte Cassino 1/35th scale guys.
http://www.dragon-models.com/html/6514poster.htm I love the guy with the netting or the wire on the helmets. But either way, I'll probably get one, and I too am looking forward to the early smock. Only thing, Dragon REALLY needs to upgrade their FJ boots... -JOSH |

I have used the large Matt Barkley H/S with a DML normal size helmet and the fit is a lot better...as mentioned by Bruce the FJ helmet was a closer fit to the
head, the Schnell,Zimm & Stangenburg helmet just did'nt look right but with the larger H/S's it works a dream.

Is that an Italian camo FG42 bandolier? Sure looks it to me, were these ever produced? I can't see them taking the time to....field produce these?

That looks like a good release, DML seems to catch their drift again.
I'm not going to buy this one boxed because it's not a Waffen SS Fallschirmjäger but i'll get that head sculpture for sure! |

The FG42 will make this one fly off the shelves. But when are they going to use up that wretched Italian camo????

I love the Italian camo.....i'm not sure about the FG42 Ammo bandolier though....my only slight doubt about the latest DML Italian camo is the green colour
but then there were probably several shades printed....i also like Marcus in that faded Italian camo panzercombi released way back.

FG42 bandoliers were made in LW blue, tan or splinter camo; there might have been some made in marsh pattern, too.
Try 2/12th scale figures. Twice the detail! |

He's got some nice items. As far as Italian Camouflage, Twisting Toys is the only brand that I think does it right..
