I got the notice from Landmark Military Books, it looks promising:"Richly illustrated with 300-plus photographs, including rare images, some of them
provided by surviving veterans.".

Has someone already bought this book, a little review would be much appreciated.

I bought it about two weeks ago and although it does not have a huge number of pages it's not bad.....the only department's i thought it was lacking
was in the equipment & winter clothing chapter's.....but then having been spoiled with the Schiffer books over the years which show multiple
photo's of clothing and equipment in every pattern, colour and angle you can imagine (and more)...it does show some very nice uniform groupings and does
enough to make it a worthwhile addition to your library.....i'm sure Schiffer could put out a better book but at three times the cost....i would say a
decent effort overall especially for the asking price.

Thank you, although i already ordered my copy. : P
The only books about Gebirgsjägers that i have are both from Roland Kaltenegger, "Gebirgsjäger 1939-1945 Die große Bildchronik"(272p), "Weapons and Equipment of the German Mountain Troops in World War II"(48p). I assume this book will be a nice addition to the books i already have. |
