I've been looking for info on Monty ribbon bar during the war to put some more colour on my fig, but couldn't find decent colour pics or info on
wikipedia...anyone has a link or a close up pic? at least in the final stages of the war, because I ogt a pic of older monty from Life magazine, but his bar
was bigger than Patton's ! Like 7 Rows !

If you've got a decent black and white picture I and others could help.

This Link will give you the full list Post-War :scroll down and you come to him :
http://justmedals.com/PRODUCT/medalgroups.html Most of these are the usual gongs handed out to Field Marshalls once retired . For a wartime pic , which is not all that clear :
and another :
Now you have to sort them out ! But given the full list in the first link that should be possible.... medals are not my thing , so good luck ! |

Actually, the topic has been covered before.
http://onesixthnet.yuku.com/reply/83318#reply-83318 I thought it seemed rather familiar.

I believe I missed a rosette in the 1914 star....but I believe it should work for a monty before VE Day..., I'll start making and trying to paint the
ribbons.............I hate those 'rainbow' ones.....very difficult to achieve in 1/6 !

Very good looking collection.
I look forward to seeing your paint job. Just to note, the ribbon for the WWI Victory Medal is actually a quarter inch wider than the others. Back when I used to clean and mount medals that quarter inch made it 'interesting', shall we say, to get the medals properly aligned on a standard ribbon bar. I just made a little research and made this in my opinion, different from the previous one post by portico, as I said is what I believe is on the pic, but I
might be mistaken:
The are the same as portico, but I believe the King George VI Coronation Medal ribbon is different, and also used a pic of the famous Pip, Squeak and Wilfred, issued to almost every Brit soldier from WWI...
