Right.
But, in scale, things don't always translate correctly especially when it comes to fabric laying properly. This style of collar would work better for the Bee Gees.

If you can saturate the collar with a setting solution ( I use hairspray), you can probably pinch it down and get it closer to the suit. That would give it a
more period appropriate and more in-scale appearance.

Much, much better. You will find that if you can bear to take the lining out of the cap , you can get it to sit much flatter. My cheat for all soft headwear is
to fill it with office Tack ( we call it Blutack over here ). This will enable you to mould it to a satisfying flatter shape.
Actually lots of young men at that time wore the shirt collar out like that , if they weren't wearing a tie. |

Well, actually, out or in isn't the question. It's rather the cut and size of the collar to the period.
Out is perfectly appropriate for the correct collar and lay of it. However, this collar wouldn't be my first choice for the look. But, it's not my figure. Regardless, it's a good start on the fig. Keep it up and best of luck.

I like the progress you've made on the figure, top notch!
If you are still debating on the weapon, I'd cast my lot with the K-98/Walther P-38 captured combo that the Dutch resistance fighter has in Band of Brothers, though the Thompson you've kitted him with currently looks pretty damn good too! |

I really like it, the outside shirt collar is very 40's fashion, keep it this way. By the way this way to wear the shirt was allowed in the german army
too.
