I have alway meant to finish my complete collection of the famous Ron Volstad's 1/35th painting of the HJ 12th SS division group of soldiers and never had any time to finish it off until Arbomambo posted his 12th HJ SS soldiers on various 1/6th forums. That prompted me to finish off my final SS Grenadier! (Arbomambo - Thanks for pushing me to finish and take digital photos today! lol) |

Thanks for the kind comments. I thought I'd add some interesting information.
Forgot to mention that I've had some good look at the famous photos of HJs. One of the photos showed that the SS Grenadier was carrying olive green grenade bags rather than khaki bags. I'm certain that they decided to carry olive green grenade bags for camouflage reasons as khaki stood out as sore thumb and was probably easy targets for enemy. Also I'm certain that he was a SS Panzer crewman who was ordered to fight among with other SS grenadiers due to shortage of tanks because he was clearly wearing black Panzer trousers.
