As several members have shown their version of the famous group shot of the HJ grenadiers at
Villeneuve du Rots on 9. juni 1944 - I decided to show some of mine too...
Mine are nothing different from the others - actually in fun to see how similar many of the versions are. I don't belive in very heavy weathering and sometimes very subtle weathring doesn't show at all on photos - but so be it.
Often the real pictures are quoted as being from either Norrey-en-Bessin or Bretteville. Actually the pictures are taken at Villeneuve du Rots after an abortive attack on the two other towns. The grenadiers is from pz. grenadier 25 who supported the attack. 12 Panthers delievered the spearhead of the attack but ran into ambush fire from Canadian Fireflys and lost 7 Panther within minutes and the attack broke down.
Anyway enjoy.

Finally made it a fair fight. Just wish the U.S. couldve gotten a bunch of them.
