I don't have any interest in Fallys so this is yet another pass from me but the MG 42 just adds to the loose parts supply and will probably make the aftermarket price drop on these a good thing IMO.

I think DML must have a new sculptor and subcontractor manufacturing their heads. I think all the ones I have seen so far are a bit big but there are so many loose older DML heads out there a swap is no problem. I like to buy loose/nude figures when they come out but I have been...

I'm very happy to use these larger sculpt's with the DML FJ helmet but they dont suit the normal Stahlheim M35, M42's or the DML U.S M1 they just dont look right....hence some of the comments when some of the latest DML previews appear,Schaper,Barkley and the latest U.S figure up on C-H Steve Goldman all look as though their helmets are to small for the larger headsculpts.

LOL...I need to be 'kicked' for chuckling at the picture you just described on the steps and playground....
Can't beat the NLM FJ boots!...they're an 'automatic' purchase for every FJ I bash...

I think most asians think caucasians have large heads - and that might be the reason that DML puts such large head on their figures.

It is also a fact that people from wester europe have larger heads than people from asia and the midle east.
I know this for a fact since my local school have had to narrow the spacing between the steps on playground monkeytrees - because a lot of emigrants from the midlle east have smaller heads than danish children and therefor can get the heads...

I don't think it's a too small helmet issue, I think it's a too large of a head issue!

LOL...I hear ya'...!
in all the pics I've perused..it does seem that the worst fitting helmets were on the guys that, like you said, had a 'watermelon' head!...
so this figure pretty much follows that lead as his HS seems to be on the 'wide'-'portly' side...
I tend to really appreciate the 'randomness' of the real world and try to translate it to 1/6, especially when a 'group' of figures is represented...

I'm not saying the helmets weren't tight - just that, aside from perhaps the first picture which must be a guy with a watermelon head, there is always some space between the brim and the head - at least room to stick in a few fingers. In the figure, it's practically air tight. I mean, his ears appear to stick out as wide as the helmet! I dont see anything close to that on any of the above pics.

Maybe it's just the pic, so I'll hold judgment till I see more. That...

I mean I know they fit tight but come on

DML have'nt gone back to the small FJ helmet...that model only appeared with four figures from recollection...Zimm,Stangenburg,Kleist & Schnell...there was a mention that the smaller FJ helmet had re-appeared with the Viktor Mohr winter FJ released a short while back but that's not the case the normal DML FJ helmet was included...the reason the helmet is fitting so well on these two FJ's is the probability that the headsculpts are as large as the Barkley & Furst...

I really like the headsculpt a lot, although it is a bit too big to look right in the new smaller FJ helmets. However the smaller helmet looks perfect on the Bayer head, at least based on the pictures they've shown so far.

Not bad. I'll have to see the price range and the full detail on the gear. Still some mighty outdated stuff mixed in with some very desirable stuff.

Would be nice to see a dealer break if you buy the pair.

PS - Any 1/6th mfg reading this: we need MARSH smocks! Splinter's been done to death!

That's because the recent headsculpts have been slightly on the large side recently Templar05,i posted in the Matt Barkley thread last week about the increase in H/S size although i could'nt believe the Konrad Furst sculpt was even bigger than Barkleys but those sculpts are perfect for the larger original DML FJ helmets.
