DML Broken Ankle Repair

If you have ever broken the ankle joint on a DML figure trying to put on boots, here is my solution to repairing the ankle joint.
1 carefully split the calf and remove it from the knee joint
2 hold the 2 halves together and take a 5/32" drill bit and dill out the hole as shown in the 1st pic
3 carefully drill out the end of the ankle with the 5/32 bit and insert a 1" section of plastic sprue or styrene rod into the ankle joint with proweld or other styrene glue, or if...

scratchbuilding a Pak 35

I started these off with scaling up from a 1/35 model. I'm not to far from the Aberdeen Proving Ground Museum so getting pics. and measurements of the real thing is easy too ( so I cheat ).
The legs are 1/2" cpvc, the barrel and wheels are lathe turned, and the rest is pretty much flattened pvc pipe of various thicknesses.

Mostly wood construction. The wheels are lathe turned and detailed with a dremel. The "glass" is clear plastic from a soda bottle. All brackets and other little doodads are pieces of pvc pipe cut and heat shaped.

Well you could say Santa came early this year. A good friend I met on the SAG forum, Ron(sgtschultzII) has sent me the running gear, track, front end, and other parts from a 1/6th SdKfz251. So I've started to scratchbuild a SdKfz251D. I have a 1/18th scale 251D halftrack and I am useing it for my dimensions, and angles, etc. Here are the first set of pics of the halftrack under construction. Comments are welcomed.... Harold

While waiting for parts to arrive for my halftrack I thought I would work on my PaK36 kit. I decided to replace the barrel and work on the breach. I removed the plastic barrel at the front edge of the tapered section and used a section cut from a fiberglass fishing pole I scooped up at a yard sale today. The rod section has a nice taper to it. Base Pins : Getting your figure to stand properly.

I've seen enough of other people's collections online to realise that many of them look pretty terrible, because they can't get the figure to stand naturally on a shelf.

Using a stand , such as the Hot Toys version , may be useful , but seems completely to me unnatural , like a kind of 1/6th Zimmer frame : entirely spoils the effect .

Well my SdKfz250 arrived today from Monkey Depot. And was I surprized.... NO DUTY!!!!. I figured out what happened... MD put down a value of $25.00US without even being asked to. I got a great deal on the DML Pak38 combo set at the Toronto show on the weekend. After assembleing it I didn't like how the wheels just slide on and nothing to keep them from falling off when you move it. Short of glueing the wheels on was the only way to keep them from falling off and that prevents the wheels from turning. So I figured there had to be a way to keep the wheels from falling yet still allow them to turn. So after looking over how the wheels were assembled I carefully...
